Religion briefs: Free gospel concert in Carson City

Free gospel concert planned

Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church will host a free gospel concert at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9. The concert will feature The Needhams.

The Needhams have toured since 1997 sharing the Gospel with their own unique sound and they have made many appearances at GSWC. The church is located at 1505 Railroad Drive in Carson City. For more information, call 775-885-8361.

Author of ‘Warrior Wife’ to present March 5 at Hilltop

The author of “Warrior Wife” will talk about the struggles military wives face in a free presentation at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5 at Hilltop Community Church, 3588 Romans Road.

Hillary Sigrist will share insights she received from personal experience and God’s inspiration while supporting her husband through his multiple deployments to the Middle East. She will talk to those who are experiencing the struggles of a military marriage, and she also will talk about the challenges any woman may face in supporting her husband.

Event set at outreach center

Free breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Hugh of Lincoln Outreach Center, 4280 Highway 50, Silver Springs.

The outreach center is hosting a Lenten prayer served at 4 p.m. Thursday. Its St. Patrick’s Day celebration will be at 11 a.m. March 16.

A weekly class about the history of the church is offered at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. For more information, call 775-577-9606.
