Sarah Palin to be in Reno, Michelle Obama in Las Vegas
November 2, 2008
A testament to Nevada’s importance in this presidential campaign, both sides are staging big events in the Silver State the day before election day.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will be in Reno on Monday at the Reno Livestock Events Center. The doors open at 6 p.m., and the program begins at 8 p.m.
John McCain will speak at a rally in Henderson on Monday also.
“Nevada is a toss up state and tied at this point,” said Rick Gorka, regional communications director for the McCain campaign. “However, the McCain-Palin effort in Nevada is nothing less than historic and our message of reform and helping the ‘Joe the Plumbers’ of Nevada grow and succeed will carry Nevada for McCain-Palin on Tuesday.”
Barack Obama spoke to 15,000 supporters on Saturday at a rally in Henderson. His wife Michelle Obama will also be visiting Nevada on Monday, staging a rally in Las Vegas.
“Nevada could decide the presidency,” said Jeff Giertz, Nevada deputy communications director for the Obama campaign. “Nevada is a critical swing state, and that’s why Barack and Michelle Obama have both been to Nevada twice in the past 10 days to talk about the change we need.”
