Seminar today for job seekers
Carson City Library and Nevada Job Connect will present T.I.P.S. “Training in Professional Skills,” today at 6 p.m. in the library’s auditorium.
The workshop is designed to provide basic guidelines for people seeking employment and will highlight many of the available resources, as well as provide tips in preparing a resume, filling out a job application, appropriate interview skills and the importance of “first impressions.”
Christina Slade, Business Service Consultant for the Nevada Employment Security Division, will present useful information for those just getting started in the job market and for those returning to the job market.

Secret Witness turns 40 this year – and it’s helped solve many of Northern Nevada’s most violent crimes
Secret Witness tips have played a pivotal role in solving some of the most violent crimes the greater Northern Nevada region has seen. To date, Secret Witness has paid out more than $300,000 in rewards to anonymous tipsters. Rewards range from $50 (graffiti/tagging) to $1,500 (armed robbery) to $2,500 (murder).
