For the Nevada Appeal
The Carson High School PTA Reflections Contest 2010 winners were awarded on Feb. 2.
Their entries have been mailed to Las Vegas to compete at the state level. Winners there will be sent on to the national level.
Winners from left to right are:
Jessie Fleming (second place, visual arts), Daniel Johnson (third place, photography), Kendra Krupp (first place, photography), Caroline Montiel (first place, visual arts), Amber Karnofel (first place, literature), Cheyenne Kiser (first place, dance choreography), Katherine Fulwider (second place, photography), Jazmin Jimenez (third place, literature).
The Advanced & Advanced Placement Art students are having a show in the Carson High School library 5-7 p.m. Wednesday. Carson High School has some truly outstanding artists. Come by and see this awesome show. The artists reception is 5:30-6:30 p.m.
This year is the 75th anniversary of the Nevada State Parks System. A poster competition was initiated in October and CHS met the challenge victoriously with artwork from Ms. Caston’s and Mr. Malley’s art rooms.
First place went to Alexis Church for a $100 prize. Sara Shores placed second and Sierra Whitton earned third place.
Honorable mentions went to Abigail Hersey, Charissa Johnson, James Atkinson, Trevor Stocke and Brian Rosas.
These students were chosen as the best artists of all students in the state and should be proud to include this award on their resumes.
