Senator Square: Carson ROTC wins award

The Carson High School Naval Junior ROTC Unit has been selected as a distinguished unit with academic honors for the past school year.

Principals of schools with this distinction will have three nominations to each of the major federal service academic for the next school year.

Competing with more than 60 Naval Junior ROTC units at high schools in the Western United States, Carson was one of three units in Nevada earning this award.

The cadets leading the unit for this school year were Battalion Commander Collin Crischott, Executive Officer Taran Santigo Operations Officer Kyle Paradise and Command Master Chief Sandra Perez.


There will not be school on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Thursday and Friday are minimum days at Carson High School with classes dismissing at 11:30 a.m.
