Senator square: Celebrations planned at Carson High

Link Crew is hosting Cookies and Cram, a study session to prepare freshmen for their first finals. If anyone would like to donate purchased cookies, please deliver them to the attention of Misty Harris at Carson High by Dec. 4.

The award-winning choir and musical theater programs will present their Winter Concerts on Dec. 7 (musical theater) and Dec. 8 (choral ensembles) at the Carson City Community Center at 7:30 p.m.

Admission for the concerts costs $3 or three cans of food. Food donations will be given to the Northern Nevada Food Bank to benefit families in need this holiday season. Hope to see you there!

The Carson High School Talent Show, which is open to the entire community, is scheduled at 7 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Carson City Community Center.

General admission will be $4, but only $3 for CHS students with a student body card. This is a fundraiser for the video and photo students, so please plan on coming to the show to help support the programs.

Carson Performing Arts will present “Eb Scrooge, A Southern Fried Christmas Carol” opening Dec. 4 at the Brewery Arts Center Black Box Theatre.

This family friendly contemporary remake of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” will surely delight the entire family with its comedic country humor and a surprise visit from Santa Claus.

Friday night shows are at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 and Dec. 11. Matinees are at 2 p.m. on Dec. 5, 6, 12, 13.

Tickets cost $5 for children and students and $8 general admission.

Carson High School’s show choir, the Capitol Stars, will host a Christmas performance and silent auction from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Brewery Arts Center.

Donation of $5 will get you desserts, drinks and a fabulous array of local sale items, entertainment and services to bid upon.
