Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• A 41-year-old unemployed transient was arrested at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of North Division Street on suspicion of misdemeanor contempt of court, obstruction of a peace officer and destruction of property. Bail was set at $3,522.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Tuesday:

• Coroner call in the 600 block of North Stewart Street at 11:05 a.m.

• Report of a man sleeping under a tree on Corbett Street at 11:26 a.m.

• A school bus was rear-ended by a vehicle on College Parkway at 2:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.

• A caller reported finding a dead body in the brush in the 3700 block of Highway 50 East at 10:43 a.m. An officer arrived and noted that while the person was not dead, the sleeping 49-year-old man was naked.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Tuesday:

• Report of a man with a bat on Stagecoach Drive in Stagecoach threatening people. Felony arrest.

• Coroner call on Hopi Trail in Stagecoach at 11:54 a.m.

Storey County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Tuesday:

• Report at 3:58 a.m. of a bear near the creek near Peri Ranch.

• A woman on Cercle De La Cerese reported at 10 a.m. that her trash can was knocked over. She asked if a deputy could take a look at it to determine if a bear knocked it over.
