RENO, Nev. (AP) – A spring storm has dumped several feet of snow in the Sierra around Lake Tahoe.

The national weather service says a winter weather advisory remains in effect for the Lake Tahoe region until 1 p.m. Wednesday. Snow showers also will linger in western Nevada, but accumulations will be minimal.

The weather service about 30 inches of snow is reported around Donner Summit along Interstate 80. Other locations report nearly 2 feet.

Chains or snow tires are required on most mountain roadways.
