Students awarded scholarships
The Carson City Republican Women award two $1,000 scholarships each year to a Carson High senior and a Dayton High senior.
The winners are outstanding students who will be pursuing their education at a four-year college, a community college or tech school.
This year’s recipients are Caitlin Berkich of Carson High and Aaron Van Sickle of Dayton High.
Both are planning to attend the University of Nevada, Reno.
“We believe that Caitlin and Aaron will be leaders in our community for many years to come and will continue in the Republican tradition of hard work, community involvement and leadership,” said Laurel Stadler, scholarship committee chairwoman.
The students will be recognized during the Republican Women’s Meet the Candidates night 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson Mall stage area.
