Summer online class to explore computer security

It’s not too soon to think summer. WNC’s 2010 summer class schedule is now available online at

schedule/ and some valuable career skills are being taught in the area of computer security.

Computer Forensics is a three-credit, online class to help students learn the fundamentals of conducting a computer investigation. It introduces setting up a forensics lab, conducting an investigation and recording evidence.

Information Technology Professor Emily Howarth has worked in the field for more than 20 years and strives to offer her students options for expanding their current careers or exploring new ones.

“Computer Forensics is an emerging field, she said. “The class enables an electronics technician or Information Technology professional to acquire new skills in the industry.”

Registration begins Monday, April 5, and classes start Monday, June 14. Information: 445-3000.
