Three men were arrested after allegedly planning a mock robbery Saturday at a Carson City fast-food restaurant where one of them worked.
Argenas Israel Mendez, of Dayton, and Jesse Jonathan Silis, of Carson City, both 19, were arrested Saturday on suspicion of felony armed robbery.
The pair worked with a 17-year-old male employee of the Wendy’s South Carson restaurant to allegedly fake a robbery and steal more than $3,400 in cash, according to the arrest report.
Mendez and Silis entered the back of the restaurant at 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning with the help of the 17-year-old. The men allegedly used a toy gun to force two other employees into the freezer before taking money from the safe, according to the arrest report.
The men then locked the 17-year-old in the freezer and left, leaving him to call police.
At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Mendez and some of the money was found at his residence in the 100 block of River Village Circle in Dayton. Silis was arrested at his home in the 2700 block of Sherman Way in Carson City at 2 p.m. Saturday.
