Update: Escapee captured
A Carson City man who allegedly escaped Lyon County Sheriff’s custody last night after being arrested on a protection order violation, was captured about 8:30 a.m. this morning.
Alfred Will Sylva, 25, was wearing belly chains and handcuffs when he escaped custody from the Silver Springs Substation at 11:30 p.m. last night.
According to Lyon County Sheriff’s Sgt. Shawn Clanton, last night a deputy brought Sylva back to the substation in Silver Springs and as he prepared paperwork, Sylva was placed in belly chains with one hand cuffed to the chain and the other to a bench.
Clanton said Silva apparently slipped out of the cuff on the bench and escaped out of the back of the substation just after 11 p.m.
Members of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, Lyon County Search and Rescue and the Carson City Sheriff’s Department located Sylva in a field three-quarters of a mile from the Highway 50/Highway 95 Alternate intersection this morning. He was rearrested without incident.
