Wetlands walk and talk at Washoe Lake State Park
Take a guided walk through the wetlands at Washoe Lake State Park on Saturday. Accompanied by a park ranger, visitors will see birds and learn more about the park’s wetland inhabitants.
Participants also will be able to use nets to dip for aquatic insects and then view them under a microscope.
Visitors are asked to bring binoculars. Park staff will have birding books on hand to view. There is no charge for this program.
Everyone will meet at the wetlands viewing area at 7:30 a.m. and the program is expected to last two hours.
The wetlands viewing area is off Highway 395. Take exit 44, East Lake Boulevard, and travel approximately two miles to the viewing area. This program suggested for ages eight and older.
