What’s closed for the holiday

All Western Nevada Community College campuses will be closed Thursday and Friday.

All Carson City, Douglas County and Lyon County schools will be closed Thursday and Friday.

All U.S. post offices will be closed Thursday.

The Federal Reserve will be closed Thursday but open Friday, and many banks will follow the same schedule. Federal regulations prevent financial institutions from closing for more than two days at a time, so check your local branch.

CARSON CITY

The Carson City Marriage Bureau will be closed Thursday. It will be open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, but there will be no judge to perform ceremonies until Saturday.

DOUGLAS COUNTY

All public libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be closed Thursday. Officers will patrol as usual.

The Douglas County Marriage Bureau and Clerks Office branches in Minden and Lake Tahoe will be closed Thursday. There will be staff on call from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday to issue marriage licenses at the Minden branch, and there will be staff in the office from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday at Lake Tahoe. There will be no judge to perform ceremonies until Saturday.

DART will not be running Thursday or Friday.

The Douglas County Senior Citizens Center will be closed Thursday and Friday.
