What’s closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Thursday and Friday

Thanksgiving is celebrated Thursday, Nov. 23.

All Western Nevada Community College campuses will be closed Thursday and Friday.

In addition, there is an instructional day today; campus will be open, but there will be no classes.

All Carson City, Douglas County and Lyon County schools will be closed Thursday and Friday.

All U.S. post offices will be closed Thursday.

The Federal Reserve will be closed Thursday but open Friday, and many banks will follow the same schedule. Federal regulations prevent financial institutions from closing for more than two days at a time, so check your local branch.

CARSON CITY

The Carson City Marriage Bureau will be closed Thursday. It will be open regular hours Friday, but there will be no judge to perform ceremonies until Saturday.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Department will be closed. Officers will patrol as usual.

The Carson City Library will be closed Thursday and Friday, and will close at 6 p.m. today. It will reopen Saturday.

The Carson City Senior Citizens Center will be closed Thursday but open Friday.

Jump Around Carson will not be running Thursday or Friday.

The Nevada State Museum will be closed Thursday but open Friday.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum will be closed Thursday but open Friday.

The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada will be closed Thursday but open Friday.

LYON COUNTY

All public offices and libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Dayton Senior Citizens Center will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Silver Springs Senior Citizens Center will be closed Thursday and Friday.

DOUGLAS COUNTY

All public libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be closed Thursday. Officers will patrol as usual.

The Douglas County Marriage Bureau and Clerks Office branches in Minden and Lake Tahoe will be closed Thursday. There will be staff on call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to issue marriage licenses at the Minden branch, and there will be staff in the office from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Lake Tahoe. There will be no judge to perform ceremonies until Saturday.

DART will not be running Thursday.

The Douglas County Senior Citizens Center will be closed Thursday and Friday.
