Lyon County senor menus

Note: Menus are for the week of Sept. 20-24 and subject to change with out notice. Choice of beverage is included with meals.


The lunch menu for the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road:

Monday: Chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, beets, green salad, peaches.

Tuesday: Taco salad, beet-onion salad, tortilla chips, strawberry shortcake.

Wednesday: Pork chops, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli and cauliflower, roll, applesauce, sherbet.

Thursday: Chef salad, three-bean salad, grapes, fruit juice, pie.

Friday: Game hens, scalloped potatoes, carrots, roll, fruit, cake, ice cream.


The dinner menu for the Silver Springs Senior Center, 1050 Pyramid Ave:

Monday: Spaghetti, spinach salad, fresh apple, stir-fry veggies, garlic bread.

Tuesday: Barbecued chicken, broccoli, apricots, baked beans, pudding.

Wednesday: Pork Joes, oven potatoes, coleslaw, pineapple.

Thursday: Roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, fresh asparagus, peaches, cake and ice cream.

Friday: Lunch at 11:30 a.m. Manicotti stuffed with cheese, spinach and beef, melon balls, green salad, soft breadsticks.


The Storey County Senior Citizens Center, E and Mill streets in Virginia City:

Monday: Cheeseburger, macaroni salad, pork and beans, pudding.

Tuesday: Mushroom pork chop, oven-roasted potatoes, broccoli, fruit.

Wednesday: Chicken Caesar salad, cottage cheese with tomato, roll, berries with cream.

Thursday: Shepherd’s pie, green salad, beets, yogurt with fruit.

Friday: Minestrone soup, grilled cheese sandwich with tomato, salad, Jell-O with fruit.


Lunch is served on weekdays at Fernley Center, 1170 W. Newlands Dr:

Monday: Oven-fried chicken, cauliflower with cheese sauce, biscuit, juice.

Tuesday: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, pears, roll.

Wednesday: Baked pollock, rice pilaf, coleslaw, bread, cookie.

Thursday: Barbecued pork sandwich, broccoli, green salad, peach crisp.

Friday: Turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, dressing, cranberry sauce, glazed carrots, cake and ice cream.
