Maple Allen ‘Mutt’ Gossett

A memorial service for Maple Allen “Mutt” Gossett, a Carson City resident for the past 40 years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at FitzHenry’s Chapel of Faith.

Mr. Gossett was born Aug. 15, 1920, in Mercury, Texas, to Allen and Pearl Adam Gossett. He was 83.

Mr. Gossett enjoyed working on cars and playing the slots at the Nugget. He worked for Carson City Redi Mix for more than 20 years.

He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps earning the Bronze Star.

Among his survivors are his son Ben Grissom of Carson City; daughter Marianne Justice of Chandler, Ariz., and seven siblings in Texas.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry’s Crematory.

FitzHenry’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
