Millard ‘Jack’ Palmer

A memorial service for Millard “Jack” Palmer, 80, a nine-year resident of Carson City, will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Hilltop Community Church.
Mr. Palmer died Sept. 5, 2007, at his home. He was born July 17, 1927, to Carl H.F. Palmer and Myrtle McHugh, in Huntington Park, Calif.
He lived in Auburn, Calif., and Minden before moving to Carson City. He married Beverly J. Temple on Oct. 22, 1951, in Carson City. He had an associate degree in hotel management. He retired from U.S. Navy. He received military campaign ribbons for World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
He worked for Pacific Bell and was a Christian Camp Director. He served on the Hilltop Community Church Administrative Board and with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program for eight years. He was a stock car enthusiast. He enjoyed camping and service to others.
He was preceded in death by his son David Eugene Palmer.
Among his survivors are his wife of 55 years of Carson City; sons and daughters-in-law Rob and Makela Palmer of Minden and Mike and Sarah Palmer of Inyokern, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Dan Troyer of Sterling, Ohio, and Donna and Chris Adcock of Rigby, Idaho; sisters and brothers-in-law Zoe and Bill Noland of Gardnerville, and Carlyn and Clarence Frazier of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; 11 grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews.

Burial will take place at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
