Billy Jack Whisenant Sr.

March 23, 1928 - April 7, 2019
Bill passed away Sunday at the age of 91. He suffered with dementia, a terrible disease that  changes who you are, who you were and how
you were meant to be.

Bill spent 32 years in the military, retiring as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. In the late 60's he was in charge of the ROTC program at UC Berkeley Ca. He did two tours of duty in Greenland and various other locations around the globe while serving his country.

Bill is survived by his 4 devoted children Barbara, Bruce, Billy Jack Jr. (Lynette) and Beverly, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother William
and sister Jimmie Lou. Bill is preceded in death by  his loving wife of 62 years Elwanda Jo.

Bill was born in Cleburne, Texas. He left before his  18th birthday to join the military. After retiring from  the military Bill lived 20 years in Fallon, NV where he had many friends and was very happy. Bill enjoyed building model airplanes and flying them with other enthusiasts. He scanned the local dumps for treasures, finding a few, and Bill loved panning for gold. He was known around town as "Cowboy" because you never saw him without his cowboy hat, boots, big belt buckle and radiant smile. Bill was a strong man, good husband, outstanding father, dedicated military
man and a good human being.

Bill will be laid to rest Wednesday May 1st, 2019 at 12:30pm in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery,
Dixon, CA.

With full military honors.
