Gail Harrigan Paholke

Gail passed on April 16, 2019. She was born Georgia Gail Harrigan in Reno on May 25, 1943 to Alfred “Whitey” Harrigan and Georgia Gray Harrigan. She attended elementary schools in Fallon and graduated from Churchill County High School with the class of “61” regularly joining them in monthly luncheons which she so enjoyed.

On June 2, 1961, Gail married Wayne Paholke, of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. They moved to Wisconsin for a brief stint then returned back to Fallon, where they have remained. They owned and operated Fallon Florist from 1980 until 2001 becoming friends with their many employees and customers.

Gail’s world was made up of her family and friends. She liked to fish, camp and chop wood with Wayne and the family’s children. Gail loved the annual trips to Indian Lakes in the summer where they stayed for weeks at a time. She treasured a lifetime of these rich memories of her children and most especially, with her grandchildren.

Along with her surviving husband Wayne, Gail was blessed with three children, Kurt Paholke (Renae) of Fallon, Kim Paholke of Reno, and Kory Paholke (Julie) of Sparks as well as Gail’s grandchildren, Karina Paholke Davis (Jacob), Jordan Paholke, Gray Paholke, and Ella Paholke, and a most precious great-granddaughter Elise Davis. Gail is also survived by her sister in law Janis Schumacher (Bill); step-sister, Margaret Davis, of Fallon, step-sister-in-law, Bea Oats, of New Castle, California, nieces Tracy Pagni (Terry Richardson), Leslie Bell Christenson (Gerald), and Susan Bracamontes (Guillermo), as well as nephews Mike Harrigan (Cindy), Mitch Harrigan (Beverly), Brian Schumacher (Amy); Brett Schumacher (Amy); Greg Davis, John Oats, and Brad Oats. Her cousins, family members and friends have made life meaningful as have her much loved extended families in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved brother, Gary, step-brother-in-law Rob Davis, step-brother Robert “Bob” Oats, nephew-in-law, Russell Pagni, best pal, Steve, forever-friend, Tanya, and so many family and friends.

Gail’s ashes will be buried next to her parents at the Churchill County Cemetery under the direction of The Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Drive, Fallon, Nevada, 89406 (775-423-2255).

Memorial donations may be made to the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation as a tribute to Brady Price or to a charity of your choice.

There will be no funeral services per Gail’s request, however, a memorial potluck will be held on May 18, 2019 at 1 PM at the Fallon Eagle’s Hall, 7977 Reno Highway, Fallon, Nevada, 89406.
