Patricia Louise (Pat) Baker of Carson City, Nevada died August 26, 2016 at her home in Carson City.

Pat was born July 19, 1937 to Harold and Vera Bryan in South San Francisco, California. She was raised in Mountain View, California and graduated in 1956 from Mountain View High School.

She married Robert Eugene Vail on July 4, 1958. They had two children, a daughter, Victoria Louise and a son Rory Edward.

Pat married her second husband, Wesley James (Jim) Baker, on February 23, 1974. They made their home in Carson City, Nevada. Jim’s son, James Stephen Baker, lived with Pat and Jim, along with Vicki and Rory. Jim died on July 9, 2005.

Pat was a telephone operator for Pacific Bell from 1956 to 1958. After leaving the workforce to care for her young children, she returned to work in 1967, and worked several jobs until her retirement in 2007. Her employers included J Mar Inc., Richdel Inc., Bentley Manufacturing, Ben Parker Company, and Carson City Public Health.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She adored her children and grandchildren and liked to spend time playing cards with her girlfriends. She enjoyed outings with her family, and spent three adventurous years living in Alaska with her husband Jim.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Jim Baker, her sister Juanita Monegan, and her brother Wally Bryan.

She is lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter Vicki and her husband Warren Aveiro of Stagecoach, Nevada; her son Rory Vail and Linda Lindquist of Quilcene, Washington; her stepson Jim Baker of Reno, Nevada; her brother Ronald Bryan of Mission Viejo, California; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the William N Pennington Teen Center, 1870 Russell Way, in Carson City on October 23rd at 1 PM.
