She later spent the majority of her career working for the Department of Taxation, until her retirement in May of 2006. Sharyn earned many honors while working for the Department of Taxation, most notable being Employee of the Year. She also enjoyed serving as an Avon representative, providing products to her many loyal customers for 25 years. Sharyn married Bill Bernardini of Carson City in June 1964, and their son Stacey Tristan was born in 1966. Sharyn and Bill were later divorced, and she subsequently married Tom Kruse of Washoe Valley where they had a son, Casey T., who was born in 1978.
