Stephen H. Myers
Feb. 27, 1943 – May 31, 2015
It is with much sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather into eternal life. Steve passed peacefully with his family by his side.
Steve was born to Howard and Hazel Myers and raised and educated in Fallon, graduating in 1961. He worked for NDOT for 36 years. In 1965, while stationed in Ely, he met the love of his life, Jan Scow. They enjoyed an incredible 50 years together raising their family in Carson City. Steve lovingly referred to Jan as “my Bride” ‘till the very end. After his retirement, he worked for VPoint, Washington Group International, and LCB during Legislative Sessions. He was very sociable and knew people throughout the state and never met a stranger. He had an incredible memory for names and faces and could tell jokes and stories for hours on end. Steve had a passion for cars and drag racing, which he instilled in his girls and nephews. Especially muscle cars, mainly from the 1960’s. Their family enjoyed camping, boating, quadding, and spent many summers at Lahontan and Father’s Days in Paradise Valley with family and friends. Steve could be the instigator of mischief, or if he didn’t think of it, end up in the middle of it. He will be missed dearly by all. Steve was totally devoted to his family, wife Jan, daughters Danette (Paul) Kluever, and Stephanie (Mark) Day, 9 grand and 6 great-granchildren Kyndra, Jason, Treysen, Londen, and Aujanae Williams; Tiffany Day; Shelby Kuhlman; Mikayla Kuhlman; Avery, Sara and Dillon Day; Matt, Jessica, Connor, and Ryleigh Day; JC Kluever; Jennifer Kluever and Alexis Kluever. Steve is also survived by his sister, Susan Grace, nephews Lonnie (Tammy) Grace, Jim (Wendy) Grace and Rob (Shannon) Grace; his cousin and partner in shenanigans, Gail (Wayne) Paholke; their families, and numerous extended family members. An open house Celebration of Life will be held in Steve’s honor on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 1:30 to 3:30 at Glen Eagles Restaurant in Carson City.
