Obituary: Harold R. Kleckner

Harold R. Kleckner was born in Oakland, Calif. Oct. 29, 1927.

Harold is survived by his wife, Alice of 57 years, his sons Frank and his wife, Dianne and daughter, Tracy Benton of Woodruff, S.C., his son Darrell and his wife Deborah, of Mississippi, his son Harold “Buck” Jr. of Dublin, Calif.; his grandsons Jonathon of Dublin, Calif., D.J. and Joshua of Moorhead, Minn.

Harold and Alice Himmel were married in Fort Hood, Texas ay 3, 1952. Harold served in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas from 1950 to 1952. He was a manager for Brown Brothers Adjusters for 26 years and then went to work in the family construction business. For many years, Harold enjoyed working with the handicapped children’s program through the Lets Go Fishing Ministry. They stock an area of various reservoirs with trout; bring in busloads of handicapped children. Volunteers, like Harold worked with each child until they caught a fish. Harold and his wife moved to Carson City in 2000.

Visitation will be noon-8:30 p.m., Thursday with a Vigil at the Santos-Robinson Mortuary 160 Estudillo Avenue, San Leandro. A funeral procession will leave the mortuary at 10 a.m., Friday going to St. Raymond Penafort Catholic Church 11555 Shannon Avenue near San Ramon Valley Blvd in Dublin for the Funeral Liturgy beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
