Obituary: Nancy Colton Quinn
Nancy Colton Quinn
Sept. 15, 1945 – Sept. 23, 2010
Nancy Quinn was peacefully called home to the Lord, Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, due to diabetic complications. Memorial services will be held at Hilltop Community Church, 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29.
She leaves behind her only daughter, Carrie Quinn Klubben, son-in-law Kerry, grandsons Caleb and Joshua, sisters DeDe and Sally, and mother Mildred.
Nancy was born Sept. 15, 1945, in Palo Alto, Calif., to James and Mildred Colton. As a young girl, the family moved to Reno. Nancy attended school in Reno, graduating from Reno High School in 1963.
In spite of her many physical limitations, Nancy enjoyed a full life. Often you would find her out to lunch with friends or attending various Bible studies. Studying God’s Word was one of her favorite pastimes. Affectionately known as “Nana,” Nancy adored her two grandsons and delighted in spending time with them. All who knew and loved Nancy know her passion for pink and, per her request, all who attend her celebration service are asked to wear pink.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, James Colton, and her infant daughter.
In her poor health, Nancy was blessed to live with her daughter and family who provided love and care for her. Nancy will be missed by many friends and family.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or MS Society.
