Bike path too costly for those who use it
So now we face another possible delay in the construction of the freeway bypass, this time because of the bicycle path.
A bicycle path would be a fine thing to have, but is it worth the cost? If we compare the cost of a single bicycle transit to that of the individual car, or semi for that matter, based on projected mass usage based on four versus two-wheel vehicles, we will find that each trip of a bicycle could cost up to thousands of dollars more.
I realize there are other values in having a bike path, but do they measure up?
Of course it’s only a portion of our tax dollars coming back to us from Washington, so probably we should not worry about it.
