The annual Walker Lake Loon Festival will begin at 9 a.m. today at Sportsman’s Beach, north of Hawthorne, on US 95. The last boats go out on the lake at 2 p.m. and return at 3 p.m. Lunch will be available for purchase. For information, call 677-0927.

Graffiti clean-up today

Members of the community can help clean up graffiti at 9 a.m. today at the skateboard area in Mills Park. Participants are asked to bring brushes and rollers, and Pavilion Beige paint, available at Sherwin Williams and Kelly Moore. White T-shirts should be worn as they are gang neutral. Wine tasting to benefit CHS band

A wine tasting event hosted by Mustang Manufacturing will be held today from 6-9 p.m. at the Carson City Airport Terminal. This event will benefit the Carson High School Band and Color Guard program. D’Vine Wine and Ben’s Fine Wine and Spirits will pour wine for tasting, to go with live music by the No Sax Quartet as well as a silent auction, appetizers and Starbucks coffee.
