‘High School Musical’ scheduled at museum

Wild Horse Theater Children’s Theater, in collaboration with The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada, presents Disney’s “High School Musical.” at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. today, Sunday and Dec. 8-9 at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for students and seniors, and $5 ages 12 and under. Children 3 & under are free if they are accompanied by an adult and do not occupy a seat. For information call 887-0438 or e-mail

WNC opens new shows

Artist April Richardson’s mixed media work of bright-colored floral paintings will grace the walls of Western Nevada College’s Main Gallery Monday through Jan. 11.

In the WNC College Gallery, Carson City and Fallon printmaking students will show their semester’s work in a one-week exhibit through Thursday.

A reception for Richardson and the student artists will be 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The public is invited. For information call 445-3235.

Senior Center hosting Barn Dance

Carson City Senior Center will hold a Barn Dance 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, 911 Beverly Dr. Music by Mixed Nuts. Dance instruction by Earl Case. Cost is $5. Refreshments will be served. For information contact 883-0703.

Flu shots offered

Community flu shots 2-6 p.m. Tuesday at the Minden Medical Center, 925 Ironwood Drive. The flu clinic is open to everyone and no appointments are necessary. The cost for a flu shot is $25. Santa headlining tree lighting on Thursday

Silver and Snowflakes Holiday Tree Lighting will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday. Festivities begin at the Capitol. The state tree will be lit, Santa arrive in a 1926 Model T and give out candy canes.


Healthy soils workshop scheduled

Learn how to build healthy soils for your landscape and gardens at a free University of Nevada Cooperative Extension “Coffee With Friends” workshop, at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, 5305 Mill St., Reno.
