Arts council hosting free talk today

The Nevada Arts Council will host a free talk by Jeanne Harrah Johnson, curator of “The Texture and Weave of Traditional Art” exhibit followed by a gallery reception 4:30-6:30 p.m., today, at the OXS gallery in the Nevada Arts Council office, 716 N. Carson St., Suite A.

Bug Out at the Carson Library today

Carson City Library hosts Storyteller Tom McCormack, 6:30 p.m., today, in the library auditorium. This story-musician will play different insect-instruments to help our unwelcome guests bug-out to the Infestation Fest.

Newborn Care Class at Carson Tahoe

Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center will host a Newborn Care Class, 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday in the Bristlecone Room, 1600 Medical Parkway.
