Children’s class on mining purposes

The Division of Minerals will be presenting a class for children on the how, why and the economic values of mining from 3-5 p.m. today.

All ages are welcome. The class taught this month is called Bird Seed Mining and has hands-on experience. All interested children need to be at the museum by 3 p.m. sharp. Materials will be provided. Cost for the class is $4.

This class is part of the ongoing Rock Kickers Club that meets every Tuesday in the Children’s Museum. The group explores fossils, minerals and rocks. For information, call 884-2226.
