Affordable lab screenings today

Carson Tahoe offers affordable lab screenings on the second Tuesday of each month. Doctor’s orders are not required. Included: Comprehensive Metabolic and Lipid Panel, PSA, CBC, TSH, and Hemoglobin A1c.

Benefit for LaFoon Family

Trash and Treasures rummage sale to benefit the LaFoon Family will be 7 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday at 430 Jeanell Drive. The LaFoon Family of Carson City found out in February Edy has stage three breast cancer. Edy, a daycare teacher, is not insured and the bills are adding up.

All proceeds will be donated to the LaFoon family. Local business sponsors include: Kidding Around Preschool, Noble Studios, Allegra Print & Imaging, Little People Portraits, Raley’s, and 1-800-GOT-JUNK.

The Carson Valley Desert Brushes will meet 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the Johnson Lane Firehouse, 1450 Stephanie Way, Minden.

Library closed for Carson Valley Days

The Douglas County Public Library in Minden will be closed from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, for staff participation in the Carson Valley Days Parade. The Library will be open from 1-6 p.m. that day. For information, call 782-9841.

Summer Programs in Virginia City

Community Chest, Inc., Virginia City offers summer fun for youth and children of all ages. Fun, positive and supervised learning experiences for youth from Kindergarten through high school this summer.
