Rally to support troops coming up Saturday
Soldiers Angels and Young Heroes will co-sponsor a rally to support troops deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in front of the Legislature on Carson Street.

Water quality workshop offered by Cooperative Extension
Learn about what pollutes our water and how you can help prevent water contamination at a free workshop presented by Susan Donaldson, water quality specialist, University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. The NEMO (Nonpoint Education for Municipal Officials) Nevada Water Quality Workshop is 7-9 p.m. on:
Sept. 20, at the South Valleys Public Library, 15650A Wedge Parkway,
Sept. 27, at the Reno University of Nevada Cooperative Extension office, 5305 Mill St., and
Sept. 29, at the Spanish Springs Public Library, 7100 Pyramid Lake Highway.

Training for call center to help Katrina victims
The Crisis Call Center of Washoe County is part of a network of two national crisis lines that will be accepting roll-over calls from the South in addition to assisting victims of Hurricane Katrina. Training begins Oct. 5.
