Faith & Insight: Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Moore
Few are willing to wait today. Few are willing to wait on God. Few are willing to become faithful men. Paul told Timothy, “And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”
At the age of 11, Chris Moore began coming to Silver Hills Church. Chris trusted Jesus Christ as his savior. Chris began the road to becoming a faithful man.
During his teen years, Chris was faithfully involved in the church. He served in whatever way possible. Chris was always learning. His first mission trip took him to Mexico with the church; the next one to North Africa. Chris wanted to please and serve God and tell people about God.
In college, Chris drove to Carson City every Sunday to participate at Silver Hills. He went on another mission trip to Japan; then another to southern Spain. In his last year in college, Chris gave a message one Sunday at Silver Hills. He became that faithful man who was able to teach others. He is a young man who was willing to wait for God’s best.
When Chris moved to the Bay Area to work, he immediately found a church home. While at that church home, God brought Elizabeth into Chris’ life. She had been waiting for God’s best herself.
When Chris could, he brought Elizabeth back to visit Silver Hills. He continued to learn and ask questions of older men about marriage. He wanted to be prepared to be God’s best for Elizabeth. He was willing to wait on God. He not only continued to seek advice and direction but he arranged for pre-marital counseling with a couple in his church in the Bay Area.
It was a joy to be part of the wedding of Chris and Elizabeth Moore in Fresno. As a pastor, it is a joy to have a young man of God submit and be shepherded through the years. It was a joy to support him. It was a joy to pray for him. It was a joy to be present at his marriage to that one girl that he had been willing to wait for.
Oh, God, give us more faithful men who are willing to wait upon the Lord.
