Letter: WNCC is great resource

by R. Hyde

I am a senior citizen of Carson City and I would like to bring to people’s attention that we have a great resource in out city. When I retired a few years back I became bored with the way things were going, and then I received a copy of the courses that were being offered at Western Nevada Community College.

So being a little doubtful I thought I would check it out. I registered for a class in creative writing and found that it was the best thing I could have done. The professors are extremely helpful and willing to take time to help in all ways possible. I have found that little something that was missing and it gave me a new look on life. The courses are challenging and the younger students are friendly and helpful.

I am going to attend a new class starting in January. It is called English 223 Memoirs and Autobiography. I urge anyone who wants to leave something for their future generations to sign up for this class. This is a great opportunity for them.

For all the seniors over 62 years it is free of charge. It is a great way to spend time meeting new people and friends. So why not give the college a call. They are very helpful. Get started on a new adventure.
