Obituary Donald Edward Lahey

A memorial service for Donald Edward Lahey, 74, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Teresa’s.

Mr. Lahey died Aug. 29, 2001 in Carson City. He was born April 11, 1927, in Solomon, Kan. to Prosper and Nell Ryan Lahey.

He attended elementary and high school in Solomon.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in the Sacramento, Calif. area for 24 years, coming from Vacaville, Calif. where he lived for 17 years.

Mr. Lahey worked for more than 30 years in civil service as Chief of the Transportation and Packaging Division, McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento. He was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus and Fraternal order of Eagles No. 1006 and was past president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his sister Mary and son Thomas.

Among his survivors are his wife Shirley of Carson City; sons Tim and wife Vickie of Carson City and son Richard Roache of Vacaville; daughter Patricia Franklin of Carson City; two grandsons; two sisters; two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Teresa’s Building Fund.

Walton’s Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
