Obituary: Maxine M. Williams

Maxine M. Williams, 84, a Minden resident for the past two months, died Oct. 3, 1999, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Nov. 29, 1914, in Ephraim, Utah, to Fred V. and Emily E. Christensen Mangelson.

Before moving to Minden, she lived in Kent, Wash.

Mrs. Williams was secretary for Cedar Green Cannery in Georgetown, Wash., for 15 years and secretary for the Carpenter’s Union in Renton, Wash., for 10 years. She was a member of the senior center and AARP in Kent and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles in Renton.

She was a member of the First Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kent. She enjoyed going to the casinos.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and her husband, John, who died in 1987 in Renton.

Among her survivors are her brother, Robert Mangelson, of Spokane, Wash., and her niece, Bonnie Hall, of Minden, with whom she lived.

A memorial service and inurnment will be held in Renton.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry’s Crematory.

FitzHenry’s Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
