Saliman Road needs higher speed limit
You may have noticed they are doing another speed study on Saliman Road, perhaps the only five-lane roadway in the state with a posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour (according to one NDOT employee I spoke with).
When I relocated here five years ago, I called the city road department to find out why the speed limit was so low on that particular roadway. I was told that the last speed study they had done indicated that traffic varied between 35 and 40 miles per hour, that there was justification to change the speed limit and that they would likely do so in the near future.
I understand that the road department has a multitude of projects and demands to meet, but this is one small change that seems long overdue.
