Sheriff’s Log

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Kyle David Higday, 30, a construction worker from Carson City, was arrested at 3:33 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of South Pratt Street on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, two warrants for failure to appear, misdemeanor driving on a suspended license and fictitious plates. Bail was set at $5,934.

• Francis Anthony Santoncito, 48, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested Thursday in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East at 6:59 p.m. on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $2,500.

• Leslie White, 21, of Carson City, was arrested at 9:27 p.m. Thursday in the 2200 block of Sneddon Way on suspicion of misdemeanor destruction of city property, gross misdemeanor assault on a peace officer and domestic battery. Bail was set at $6,264.

• Paula Cummings-Toombs, 28, a student from Silver Springs, was arrested at 1:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of East William Street on suspicion of felony possession of drugs without a prescription and obtaining dangerous drugs by misrepresentation. Bail was set at $5,000.

• Jay David Finders, 45, a construction worker from Minden, was arrested at 12:27 p.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of felony third-offense driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, misdemeanor disobedience of a traffic device, having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, driving without proof of insurance. Bail was set at $25,000.

• Michael McDowell, 42, a construction worker from Carson City, was arrested at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at Fifth and Harbin streets on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, driving on fictitious plates and driving without proof of insurance. Bail was set at $5,735.

• Joseph William Brumbaugh, 24, a tilesetter from Chowchilla, Calif., was arrested Thursday in the 800 block of East Musser Street on suspicion of felony probation violation. No bail was set.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:

• Domestic dispute reports on Imperial Way, North Carson Street, Sneddon Way and Walker Drive.

• Graffiti reports on East Robinson Street, Fairview and Woodside drives.

• Vehicle burglary report in the 3200 block of Market Street at 11:46 a.m.

• Vehicle theft report in the 4200 block of North Carson Street at Medical Parkway at 1:03 p.m.

• Accident in the 2400 block of Fairview Drive at 1:26 p.m.

• Threat report on West Long Street at 3:48 p.m.

• Accident at Snyder Avenue and Silver Sage Drive at 5:45 p.m.

• Accident at Division and Fourth streets at 7:15 p.m. A child was struck on a bicycle by a vehicle. He was taken by helicopter to a Reno hospital.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:

• Misdemeanor arrest on Branstetter Avenue in Mark Twain at 1 a.m.

• Report of a fight that turned into a hit-and-run accident in the 10000 block of Highway 50 East in Mound House at 2:09 a.m.

• Residential burglary report in the 100 block of South California Street in Yerington at 4:09 a.m.

• Misdemeanor arrest on Endeavor Lane in Fernley at 1:57 p.m.

• Misdemeanor arrest on Paul Avenue in Yerington at 2:11 p.m.

• Report of parents requesting police help after they spent 20 minutes trying to free their baby from a locked car on Highway 50 East in Silver Springs at 6:17 p.m. People were able to pry open the door. The child was OK.

• Motorcycle accident involving a 16-year-old with a possible broken collarbone on Antelope Street in Silver Springs at 8:06 p.m.

• A woman in Fernley reported her neighbors were having a party at 10:23 p.m. and it was causing their dog to bark. The woman asked that deputies have the neighbors quiet the dog.

• A report of a convertible with three teens standing up in the back on Pepper Lane in Fernley at 11:30 p.m. Deputies were unable to locate them.
