Sheriff’s Log

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Mark John Meeks, 36, a car-wash employee from Dayton, was arrested at 10:58 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of North Carson Street on a Contra Costa County, Calif., warrant for suspicion of felony fugitive from justice. Bail was set at $565,000.

• A 44-year-old car-wash employee and a 55-year-old car-wash employee, both from Carson City, were each arrested at 10:58 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of misdemeanor battery. Bail for each was set at $1,132.

• Brandon Rasmussen, 21, of Carson City, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of Hot Springs Road on suspicion of gross misdemeanor child endangerment and misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail was set at $5,632.

The following are some of the 142 calls to which deputies responded Monday:

• Arson report on East College Parkway at 10:19 a.m.

• A 1987 red Ford F250 truck was stolen sometime between Friday and Monday at 11:58 a.m. from the 100 block of Koontz Lane.

• Battery report in the 1700 block of Camille Drive at 12:02 a.m.

• The coroner was called to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center at 12:30 a.m.

• Accident in the 400 block of Fairview Drive in which a driver was trapped, but uninjured at 6:23 p.m.

• Accidents at West College Parkway and North Ormsby Boulevard.

• Domestic battery report in the 700 block of Hot Springs Road at 10:51 p.m.

Lyon County

The following are some of the 90 calls to which deputies responded Monday:

• Accident on Main Street in Fernley at 4:56 a.m.

• Accident on Highway 338 in Smith Valley at 5:14 a.m.

• Property damage report on Highway 95 Alternate in Fernley at 8:15 a.m. A felony arrest was made.

• Commercial burglary report at Santa Maria Ranch in Dayton at 8:22 a.m.

• Fight reported in the 600 block of Annie Way in Fernley at 4:20 p.m.

• A misdemeanor arrest in the 100 block of Ring Road in Mark Twain at 4:34 p.m.

• Property damage report in the 800 block of Commerce Center Drive in Fernley at 5:47 p.m.

• Drunken driving report on Highway 95 Alternate in Mason Valley at 11:01 p.m.

Storey County

The following are some of the 18 calls to which deputies responded Monday:

• An arrest was made in the 500 block of Waltham Way at 7:20 a.m.

• Two dogs escaped from their yards in the 100 block of South Summit Street at 9:33 a.m.

• The bank did not open when it was supposed to, causing customers to become concerned at 10:15 a.m. Deputies contacted the responsible party and she said she didn’t open the bank because she didn’t have a second employee. She was told, if in the future she does not open the bank when it should be opened, to inform the sheriff’s department.

• The fire alarm at Mandarin Chinese Restaurant on North C Street went off twice for no reason.

• On Friday at 10:10 p.m., Sgt. Ken Quirk observed what he believed to be an impaired driver while on patrol in the Mark Twain Estates area of Storey County. He stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Anthony Alvarado, 27, of Reno and his passenger, Michael Fowler, 18, of Dayton.

Further investigation allegedly revealed Alvarado was driving under the influence of alcohol and was also in possession of drug paraphernalia, a marijuana-smoking pipe. Fowler was also allegedly in possession of paraphernalia and admitted to having used marijuana earlier.

Alvarado was booked into the Storey County Jail on suspicion of misdemeanor first offense drunken driving and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $1,479 bail. Fowler was booked on suspicion of minor in possession of alcohol, unlawful use of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $3,479 bail.
