Paul E. Mears

A funeral service for Paul E. Mears, 72, a 14-year Carson City resident, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley.

Viewing will take place one hour before the service.

Mr. Mears died April 13, 2006, in Carson City. He was born Nov. 15, 1933, in St. Paul, Minn., to Kenneth and Mildred Mears.

He married Cynthia in 1998.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in San Jose, Calif.

He worked at Lockheed in Sunnyvale, Calif., for 33 years as an engineer.

Mr. Mears and his wife owned and operated the Wishing Well Bar in Carson City for several years.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a life member of the Mountain View De Anza No. 194 Free & Accepted Masons of California and a life member of Three Great Lights No. 651 F&AM of California. He was a Kerak Shriner; a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, California; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Valley Star Chapter No. 205 in Los Altos, Calif.; a member of E. Clampus Vitus; a member of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry; and a Master Artisan of the Order of Quetzalcoatl See of North America, Truckee No. 17, Reno.

He was a Catholic.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Carson City; sons Roger Mears of Modesto, Calif., and Mark Mears of Harrison, Ohio; stepdaughter, Ashley Kelsall of Carson City; and six grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Walton’s Carson Gardens Cemetery.

Walton’s Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
