A Trisagion Service for Paul Pavlakis, 75, a Reno resident, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Church, 4795 Lakeside Dr., in Reno, with the Rev. George Bratiotis presiding. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Mr. Pavlakis died March 18, 2006, at his home in Reno. He was born June 13, 1930, in Ely to James and Despina Pavlakis.
He graduated from White Pine County High School and continued his education at the University of Utah.
He worked at the Kennecott Copper Mines in Ruth and McGill until moving to Reno in 1952. In Reno, he worked for Byars Construction and Helms Construction before starting his own company, Silver Triangle Construction, in 1975. After retirement, he managed the Casa LaGrande Apartments in Reno.
He enjoyed fishing and visiting with friends.
He was a member of the Laborer’s Union of North America, Local 169, and a member of St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Church.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 in Korea. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant.
He was preceded in death by his sister Nina Jukich in 1985.
Among his survivors are his sisters and brothers-in-law Evangeline and Dan Grubic, of Reno, and Harriet and Chris Christie, of Modesto, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Karen Pavlakis, of Carson City; and numerous extended family members and friends across the United States and Greece.
Entombment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Reno.
