Public employees’ union endorses Titus
The union representing more than 3,000 Nevada public employees has endorsed Dina Titus to become governor.
In Nevada, the largest membership of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees is the State of Nevada Employees Association.
“It is an honor to be associated with these two organizations which represent a diverse group of hard working people who are the backbone of our government,” Titus said. “These people do everything to ensure Nevadans get the essential services they need.”
A union spokesman said the endorsement is recognition of Titus’ work as the state Senate minority leader.
“She has a vision, and we believe that vision is the best for Nevada and everyone will benefit,” said Flora Walker, western regional director for AFSCME.
