Raymond Bryan, 86, a Carson City resident, died Nov. 9, 2006, at the Evergreen Health Center after an illness.
Mr. Bryan was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Newark, N.J., to William and Nellie Bryan.
He graduated from Belleville High School in Belleville, N.J.
He was a traveling salesman for hobby companies, including True Scale Models. After retirement, he worked part-time for the Carson Nugget and Nevada Employment Security.
He was a member of the Carson City Cycle People, the Stewart Boxing Club, the Lions Club and the Secret Witness Committee. He won several bicycling races in his life and set the Amateur Bicycle League of America record by riding from New York City to San Francisco in 27 days and 11 hours, a record which stood for nearly a decade and was published in the “Encyclopedia Britannica” and the “World Almanac.”
He enjoyed bicycle racing, photography, developing film and keno.

He was preceded in death by wife of 35 years, Arlene Guest Bryan, in 1986.
He is survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in New Jersey.
