STUDENT OF THE WEEK
This week’s student of the week is Katasha DeGraw. Katasha is a junior at CHS. She’s an outstanding student who works hard in both her academics and in her extracurriculars. Katasha is engaged, motivated, and talented, and never fails to come to class prepared and ready to learn. Thanks Katasha for being a wonderful student here at Carson High.
This week’s senior spotlight is on Trevor Sollberger. Trevor is a talented student who currently has a 4.25 GPA, working toward his honors diploma.
Trevor is more than just a great student; he’s an asset to our community. Since he was a child, Trevor has been a member of Boy Scouts of America. He has completed more than 250 hours of community service over the past four years, including designing and installing the directional signs on the bike path in Carson City, earning him his Eagle rank. Trevor also competes for the Carson High School tennis and swim teams, qualifying for regional competitions in both sports.
After school and during the summer, Trevor spends a lot of time with the youth, both in Carson City and out. In 2012 he spent the summer working as a merit badge instructor and camp counselor. He’s a lifeguard and swim instructor for Carson City and also tutors students in the elementary schools. Trevor is an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his free time hiking, bicycling and hunting.
Trevor plans to attend UNR this fall, where he’s going to major in Chemical Engineering. Congratulations Trevor. We are so proud of you and wish you luck in all of your future endeavors.
