Senior menus Sept. 24-28

Note: Menus are for the week of Sept. 24-28 and are subject to change without notice. Choice of beverage is included with meals.


The lunch menu for the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Dr.:

Monday: Tostada on corn tortilla, ground beef and cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onions, refried beans, mixed fruit.

Tuesday: Seafood salad with crab and shrimp, carrot and celery sticks, pickled beets, diced pineapple, oatmeal cookie, crackers.

Wednesday: Polish sausage with peppers and onions, seasoned potatoes, sauerkraut, apple, German chocolate cake.

Thursday: Beef stroganoff with egg noodles, zucchini, fruit cocktail in Jell-O, French bread with margarine.

Friday: Barbecued chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, watermelon, cornbread with honey butter.


The lunch menu for the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road:

Monday: French dip, potato wedges, three-bean salad, applesauce, chocolate pudding.

Tuesday: Chicken, scalloped potatoes, Brussels sprouts, bread with margarine, mixed fruit.

Wednesday: Meatloaf with gravy, baked beans, green beans, corn on the cob, fresh fruit.

Thursday: Turkey and ham sub sandwich, tomato soup, fries, beets, fruit, cookie.

Friday: Breakfast, 9-10 a.m. – waffles, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, fruit, V8 and orange juice.


The lunch menu for the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane:

Monday: Salisbury steak, Caesar salad, mashed potatoes with gravy, zucchini and tomato salad, brownies.

Tuesday: Barbecued pork riblet, green salad, scalloped potatoes, applesauce, cookie.

Wednesday: Beef tacos, ranch beans, Mexicorn, orange, rice pudding.

Thursday: Fried chicken, apple nut slaw, mashed potatoes with gravy, biscuit, spice cake with cream cheese icing.

Friday: Split pea soup and meatball sub, cucumbers with sour cream dressing, orange.


The Storey County Senior Citizens Center is located on the corner of E and Mill streets in Virginia City:

Monday: Chili dogs, potato salad, melon, ice cream, pudding.

Tuesday: Roast pork, applesauce, mashed potatoes, roll, butter, pie.

Wednesday: Creamed chicken on rice, broccoli, peaches, roll and butter.

Thursday: Hamburger, fries, salad, fruit cocktail.

Friday: Fish sandwich, potato chips, coleslaw, ice cream, pudding.


The Yerington Senior Center is at 117 Tilson Way:

Monday: Raviolis, green beans, garden fresh salad, garlic bread, fruit, brownie sundae.

Tuesday: Sweet-and-sour pork, rice, cottage cheese salad, bread, fruit, cook’s choice dessert.

Wednesday: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn salad, green beans, bread, fruit dish.

Thursday: Barbecued chicken, potato salad, bread, fruit, lemon bisque.

Friday: Barbecue in the park – Polish dogs, cheeseburgers, macaroni salad, baked beans, brownies, fresh fruit.


Lunch is served on weekdays at Fernley Center, 1170 W. Newlands Dr.:

Monday: Barbecue chicken, broccoli, baked beans, apricots, roll with margarine, pudding.

Tuesday: Macaroni and cheese, spinach, whole-wheat bread with margarine, strawberry-banana yogurt, orange juice.

Wednesday: Beef tacos, Mexicorn, ranch beans, orange, rice pudding.

Thursday: Chicken and dumplings, carrots, green salad, spicy pears.

Friday: Breakfast – Scrambled eggs, toast with jelly, bacon, apple slices, orange juice and V8. Center closed after breakfast.
