Soroptimist recently honors young women as ‘Girl of the Month’
Soroptimist International of Carson City recently honored three young women from Carson High School with its Carson City’s Girl of the Month awards.
Llanie Ibarra has been chosen as the Girl of the Month for December, 2007; Rachel Kilgore for January 2008, and Sarah Woolman for February.
Llanie is the daughter of Procelyn and Rogelio Ibarra and is a student at CHS. She enjoys playing tennis, reading, writing, hanging out with her friends and helping in the community.
She plans on attending the University of Nevada, Reno when she graduates to pursue a career as a child psychologist or school psychologist. She has been active in school activities and volunteering in the community.
Rachel is the daughter of Jenny and Brian Kilgore and is a student at CHS. Her favorite hobbies are running and writing.
She plans to attend Truckee Meadows Community College after graduation to obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Rachel has been active in school activities and volunteering in the community.
Sarah is the daughter of Walter Woolman and is a student at CHS. She enjoys crocheting, sewing, running, flying and learning new things.
She plans to attend Seattle Central Community College to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. Sarah has been involved in school activities and volunteering in the community.
Each month, an outstanding senior class girl at Carson High School is selected to be honored for her efforts and achievements in her home, school and community. The women were recently honored at a luncheon.
Soroptimist International of Carson City is composed of women business executives and professional women, associated primarily for service to others. Soroptimist members are committed to opportunities for the young and focus on their needs in our community through recognition of youth programs.
