Sounds and sights of Pink Floyd at the Brewery
Pink Floyd’s music is shining on through Eclipse, a Reno-based tribute band.
Eclipse returns at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall, 449 W. King St., with a laser light and effects show reminiscent of Pink Floyd concerts of the 1970s.
“What we want to do is transport people back in time, and we have a new generation of younger people who never had the opportunity to see Pink Floyd,” Dave Marino, Eclipse lead guitarist, told Tahoe Action magazine.
Eclipse plays songs such as “The Wall,” “Animals,” “Wish You Were Here,” and “Momentary Lapse of Reason.”
Eclipse was founded by Marino, who says his playing style was influenced by Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour.
“I’ve dedicated myself to studying David Gilmour’s guitar technique,” Marino said. “It’s very detailed music, a lot of time changes and a lot of it is recreating those classic tones that they had.”
Tickets are $15, $12 seniors, students and BAC members. Call 883-1976.
Those who buy tickets in advance online, on the phone or in the Artisan Cafe in the Brewery will be entered into a drawing to win a Pink Floyd boxed CD set. They must be purchased by 4 p.m. Friday to qualify for the drawing.
