Spring Wild Turkey apps now available
According to a press release by the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW), applications and regulations brochures for Nevada’s spring turkey hunts are now available at NDOW offices, sporting goods stores and also online at http://www.ndow.org.
Available in the upcoming drawing are 115 resident and 10 nonresident tags to hunt turkeys in the state.
The resident quota includes the following:
60 tags for Mason Valley in Lyon County, 15 tags for Moapa Valley in Clark County, 25 tags for Unit 102 of Elko County and 15 tags for Unit 103 of Elko and White Pine counties.
There are open quotas this year for Churchill, Pershing and Lincoln counties as well as Lyon County, except for the Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area.
NDOW is advising all turkey hunters who apply for open quota tags that significant numbers of the turkeys in those counties occur on private lands.
Applications must be received by mail or online at Wildlife Administrative Services in Fallon by 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 to be eligible for the tag drawing.
