Tahoe legislative committee sets first meeting Oct. 25
The 1999 version of the committee charged with reviewing the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency meets Oct. 25-26.
The committee has operated between legislative sessions for several years now and is charged with reviewing the operations of TRPA as well as needs within the Tahoe Basin.
This year, the panel will be headed by Assemblyman Greg Brower, R-Reno. He is joined by Democrats Vivian Freeman of Reno and Kelly Thomas of Las Vegas from the lower house. In addition, the committee includes Senators Mark Amodei of Carson City and Bill O’Donnell of Las Vegas, both Republicans, and Ray Shafer, D-Las Vegas.
The October meeting will feature a tour and an informational hearing focusing on results of the Presidential Forum which set goals and funding sources for environmental repairs at Tahoe.
Future meetings will be held In January, March and May.
The specific location of the meetings has not yet been announced but all will be in the Tahoe Basin.
