USFWS conducting endangered species act reviews

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has begun mandatory reviews for six different species required under the Endangered Species Act – two of them found in Nevada.

The species on the Nevada list are both tiny fish which were listed as endangered five years ago: The Virgin River Chub and the Woundfin. They are also found in Arizona and Utah.

Wildlife officials are seeking submission of any new information in the past five years. The purpose of the reviews is to determine whether the endangered listing for those fish is still accurate.

The review will also deal with three types of flowering plant and one snail found in Arizona and Utah.

Anyone wishing to submit information or comments can do so to the Utah Field Office should send comments to: ATTN: Five-year Review, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 2369 West Orton Circle, Ste. 50, West Valley City, UT 84119.
